As a loan originator or homeowner, trying to decide if a refinance is "doable" is often a critical first step - yet HVCC prohibits traditional "comp searches" to appraisers. 

The following sources, if used carefully can provide valuable information.  We do recommend that if you use these sites you ignore their estimated values and instead look at the sales surrounding your property within the past 90 days and in the immediate area.  This will give you a range - although still won't account for all of the differences between the properties.

trulia.com Site with real estate listings, comps, home photos and aerial views of homes nationwide . Also includes sales trends by local market.

zillow.com Provides recently sold comps and "zestimates" on homes across the 50 states.
