Who Are AXIS
Appraisers?
The AXIS Appraiser Panel is composed of highly
qualified independent fee appraisers with a minimum of 5 years
experience in the local markets to which they are qualified to
appraise. In addition, AXIS employs staff appraisers for
select markets throughout the United States.
Each panel or staff appraiser is highly
screened prior to AXIS approval. The AXIS
approach to developing its appraiser panel is unique in the
industry for several reasons:
- The process begins when an appraiser believes
he/she meets our criteria and e-mails AXIS for an application
package: appraisers@axis-amc.com. To
be considered, appraisers must have five years of experience and
must be certified license
holders.
- Once the application package is received, documents
are carefully screened and licensed history is checked
with the state licensing board to ensure good
standing.
- AXIS interviews the appraiser to
discuss his/her background, expertise and qualifications in a
particular local market.
- Appraisers must provide references by
industry leaders in loan production and lending which represents
two separate sources. References can be e-mailed directly
to appraisers@axis-amc.com
or completed on the AXIS website (see below).
- Appraisers must provide two recent work samples for review by
our AXIS staff appraisers.
- Approved Panel Appraisers are provided training
related to the web-based tool, and ongoing training as part of the
lender-appraiser feedback loop. Appraisers must
submit W-9 and signed work agreement contract prior to receiving
orders.
- An approved Panel Appraiser's service level and
work product are carefully screened until the appraiser qualifies
as an Affiliate Appraiser. On average, Affiliates are
compensated at 80% of the appraisal fee.
The AXIS goal is that all appraisers on our Appraisal
Panel ultimately achieve Affiliate Appraiser status. Highly
qualified appraisers who truly know their unique market is what
sets AXIS apart.
