Axis Appraisers

AXIS Appraisers

The AXIS Appraiser Panel is composed of highly qualified appraisers with a minimum of 5 years experience in the local markets to which they are qualified to appraise.

Each appraiser on the AXIS panel is highly screened prior to AXIS approval. Appraisers work for AXIS as independent contractors.

The AXIS approach to developing its Appraiser Panel is unique in the industry for several reasons:

  • The process begins when an appraiser believes he/she meets our criteria and e-mails appraisers@axis-amc.com a complete application package.  To be considered, appraisers must have five years of experience and must be certified license holders.  A complete application includes:
    • a cover letter that introduces you to AXIS.  It should state that you have reviewed our fee schedule and work requirements and are in agreement with the philosophy and requirements of the company.  It should also state information about your work experience and customer service that makes you standout as an excellent candidate for inclusion on the AXIS panel.
    • a resume that evidences 5 years of appraisal experience, additional work experience, and education and course work.
    • 2 recent work samples - we read them and look for correct grammar & spelling, data-supported appraisal practice, narratives that tell not what you did but why you did it, and USPAP compliance. Current license & E&O insurance docs.
    • W-9
    • two letters of reference - or references completed on our on line referral system.  References must be from industry leaders in loan production, real estate or lending which represents two separate sources.
  • Once the application package is received, documents are carefully screened and licensed history is checked with the state licensing board to ensure good standing.
  • AXIS interviews the appraiser to discuss his/her background, expertise and qualifications in a particular local market.
  • Approved Panel Appraisers are provided training related to the web-based tool, and ongoing training as part of the lender-appraiser feedback loop. An approved Panel Appraiser's service level and work product are carefully screened until the appraiser qualifies as an Affiliate Appraiser.
